UEL (State University of Londrina) lives in our hearts, but as usual, there is a lack of resources for investment in improving education and maintaining its facilities. It's a beautiful place, but it lacks the necessary maintenance: if we want a better country, investment in education at all levels is essential.
I graduated in Veterinary Medicine from UEL at the end of 1989. The University was beautiful. Unfortunately, since then, they've committed an architectural crime, throwing various buildings with different styles among the old ones. The maintenance also leaves much to be desired. But I miss it terribly.
It's the only true university in the city and despite the government's efforts to destroy it, it still has the best courses and the biggest scientific and technological output in the region. Properly funded, this could be an even better institution, comparable to the universities in São Paulo.
The university is beautiful, it has incredible professors, but it has flaws like any other; some professors leave something to be desired, there are faculty members whose purpose I don't even know, not to mention the budget cuts. But, the experience of being there and studying there is amazing!

I graduated here many years ago. Only good memories. The infrastructure is public, so we know it can be improved, but the professors are excellent for the most part. I recommend visiting or becoming a student.
