Privacy Policy
TrustMBBS is run by Rohit Nehra from India. This page says plainly what the site collects, why, and what you can do about it. Last updated 25 September 2026.
What we collect, and when
- Browsing. The web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type, time) for security and to keep the site running. We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read; it sets cookies and reports aggregate usage to Google. Uptime monitoring by UptimeRobot checks that the site is reachable and does not see visitor data.
- Student reviews and stories. Your name (or the pseudonym you choose), email address, the text you write, any images you upload, and the IP address the submission came from. Your email is used to verify the submission and to contact you about it; it is never published.
- Scam reports and disputes. The details you give about the agent, company or website, your name and email, any files you attach, and your IP address. Reports are published only after email verification and moderation; your name is published only if you choose it.
- Verified student profiles (Student in Need, Student Indeed). Name, email, college, semester, the identity and college documents you upload, and the browser location you share at your college and hostel. Documents and exact locations are private to the moderator and are used only to confirm you are a real student at that college; they are never shown to other users. Other users see your first name, college, city and the services you offer.
- Contact, subscription and "get help" forms. The name, email, phone number and message you type, so we can reply.
- Ad reports. The advertiser, page and note you send us about an unwanted advertisement.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent or trade your details to consultancies, agents, colleges or anyone else. This is the whole point of the site.
- We do not charge students, and we do not take commission from colleges or agents for any listing, review or introduction.
- We do not send marketing email. You receive email only to verify a submission, to hear back about something you sent, or the newsletter you asked for, which you can leave from any message.
Advertising
If advertising appears on the site it is served by Google AdSense, only on guide, story and news pages, and only to cover hosting and maintenance. Google uses cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites; you can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's ad settings. We do not accept advertising from admission consultancies or agents and you can report any ad from the link under it.
How long we keep it
Published reviews, stories and scam reports stay online while they are accurate and relevant; you can ask for yours to be removed at any time using the removal link in your verification email or by writing to us. Unverified submissions are deleted after their verification link expires. Verified-student documents are kept while your profile is active and deleted when you close it. Server logs are rotated by the host on a short cycle. Backups of the database are taken nightly and kept for a limited period on the server and offline.
Who can see it
Only the site administrator can see submitted email addresses, documents and IP addresses. Data is stored on a hosting provider's servers and sent by email through the site's mail provider; those services act on our behalf. We will disclose information when the law requires it, for example to a court or the police investigating a fraud reported on the site.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to alerts@trustmbbs.com or use the contact form. Removal of a published report or review takes effect within a few days; where a report has been disputed, both sides are told.
Children
The site is intended for students aged 17 and over and their families. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top will change and the change will be described here.
