NMC Anti-Ragging Cell seeks action taken reports from Rajasthan medical colleges after seven complaints
The National Medical Commission's Anti-Ragging Cell has sought point-wise explanations and action taken reports from Rajasthan medical colleges after seven ragging complaints from first-year MBBS students surfaced between 10 and 18 October 2026. Medical Dialogues reported on 19 October that the complaints concerned Government Medical College Kota, Dr S N Medical College Jodhpur, Bhilwara Medical College, GMC Chittorgarh, Sardar Patel Medical College Bikaner, ESIC Medical College Jaipur and Pandit Naval Kishore Sharma Medical College, Dausa. In the Dausa case, the NMC on 18 October sought an ATR within 24 hours and directed the institute to take immediate protective measures and provide mental health support.
Medical Dialogues reported on 28 October that the NMC had ordered GMC Pali to submit an ATR within 24 hours with point-wise comments, inquiry records and security duty rosters, to confirm that CCTV footage and other electronic evidence had been preserved, to keep the complainant's identity confidential and to ensure no retaliation. The Commission stated a zero-tolerance approach and warned that failure to act or report on time would be brought to the notice of the competent authority. The United Doctors Front has asked the Chief Minister for independent, time-bound inquiries and accountability for deans where lapses are established.
Complaints reaching the NMC Anti-Ragging Cell have drawn 24-hour reporting deadlines; both reports are on Medical Dialogues.
