MCC declares NEET PG 2026 round 1 final result; 28,723 seats allotted, reporting window closes 2 November

The Medical Counselling Committee published the final round 1 seat allotment result of NEET PG counselling 2026 on 26 October 2026, covering the 50 per cent All India Quota MD, MS and DNB seats. Medical Dialogues reported that 28,723 seats were allotted across 96 speciality and course entries, with MD General Medicine (2,102), MD Anaesthesiology (2,009), MS General Surgery (1,904), MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology (1,748) and MD Paediatrics (1,514) taking the largest shares.

Careers360 reported that candidates allotted a seat in round 1 must report to the allotted college or hospital between 26 October and 2 November 2026. For NBEMS (DNB) seats, the hospital has to update the candidate's reporting or joining status on the Intra-MCC portal within MCC's prescribed timeline; if it does not, the seat is treated as vacant, and NBEMS has said it cannot relax those timelines. Under a revised NBEMS rule, candidates who choose the float (upgrade) option are not required to pay the first-year course fee while they wait, while those who freeze their seat pay it directly to the allotted hospital.

The allotment PDF and reporting instructions are on mcc.nic.in under PG Medical Counselling; check the official notice before acting.
