Best colleges in Jharkhand by opening rank

Ranked by the best NEET All India Rank that chose the college in Round 1 (Open category, merit quota). A low opening rank means top scorers picked it first; the closing rank is roughly what you needed to get in.

Colleges that still had vacant seats when counselling closed

Institutes with MBBS seats still vacant when MCC counselling closed, most first. These seats went back to the institute or lapsed; the list shows where demand was weakest, not seats you can get now. Check the closing rank next to each: it tells you the rank that got in last time.

Most open seats in the country sit in deemed universities, where fees are high and the seat is often given up after allotment. A seat being open is not the same as it being affordable; check the fee on the college page and never pay an agent to "arrange" it.

How we get these numbers

Everything on this page comes from the official documents published by the Medical Counselling Committee for NEET UG 2026, and nothing else. We do not use coaching-centre "expected cut-offs" or last year's figures.

  1. Seat Matrix for Round 1: every seat each institute offered, by quota and category. This is the "seats" column.
  2. Round 1 allotment result: one line per candidate with rank, institute, quota and category. Counting lines gives "allotted"; the lowest and highest rank in each cell give the opening and closing rank.
  3. Round 2 allotment result: the same, plus what each Round 1 candidate did (reported, not reported, upgraded, retained, surrendered). "Joined" counts those who reported. Round 2 opening and closing ranks use only candidates newly placed in the round; candidates who kept their Round 1 seat are not counted twice.
  4. Clear vacancy, virtual vacancy and newly added seats for each round: MCC's own vacancy lists, published before the round opens. Clear vacancy is a seat that is definitely empty; virtual vacancy adds the seats of candidates from the previous round who opted to upgrade, which open only if that candidate actually moves.
  5. Round 3 allotment result: the same again, with what each Round 2 candidate did. Round 3 opening and closing ranks use only candidates newly placed in the round.
  6. Stray Vacancy Round result, the admitted/joined list up to Round 3 and the not-reported notice: MCC's final documents. "Joined" counts candidates on the admitted list; stray allotments are added to it; "vacant at close" is seats offered minus both.

Seats open for Stray Vacancy Round is our estimate: seats offered (Round 1 plus newly added) minus seats still held after the last round, where "held" means earlier joiners who did not upgrade away plus the new allotments. Candidates who do not join free more seats, so MCC's official vacancy list is normally a little higher. Treat our number as the floor.

Ranks are NEET UG All India Ranks as printed in the allotment results. The headline opening and closing ranks use the Open category in the merit quotas only (All India Quota, Open Seat Quota at central institutes, and the Self-Financed Merit Seat at deemed universities). NRI, minority, ESIC, internal and armed-forces quotas admit at very different ranks, so they would make colleges look easier or harder than they are; each institute page shows every quota and category separately.

What is not here: the 85% state quota of government colleges and the seats of private colleges counselled by the state authority. Those go through Jharkhand's own counselling and are not in MCC's documents.

Nobody can sell you an MCC seat. Allotment is by rank and choice only. If an agent quotes a price for a seat on this page, that is the fake admission scam: report it, and ask a verified student at the college before paying anyone anything.
