I studied my Masters here. It is a very nature friendly and at the same time, well developed university. Very well organized. If you are someone who wants to study in a really big and green campus, this is the place for you. I'm not even kidding, they are world no. 1 in Marine Biology. Every department is up to the standard.

Donaldmichelle Bogucki

hello looking for someone to help answer a few questions I live in the United States and want to get a certificate in marine biology and was looking at this school for online classes does any one know any kind of job I can get with just a certificate in marine biology and not a degree please someone help

Mitchell Asplund

i was a study abroad student for one semester here and overall it was a good university. HUGE cost to study abroad here but great location in smaller Townsville. decent teachers and good classes. sometimes can be very difficult but an overall very good place to study.

Hearing the case of a student abusing his responsibilty to create a safe space for all individuals but inside and outside practice, I am ashamed. I am ashamed that James cook have only allowed this student off with a slap on the hand rather …

Annabel Jellett

As a medical student graduating in 2025 I am absolutely disgusted that you allowed a violent perpetrator continue to study medicine for YEARS. Allowing him to continue studying puts women, children, vulnerable patients and all others at RISK.

Achievers Point

James Cook University offers well-planned support services for international students who wish to study in the university. International support volunteers, learning advisers, student assistance helplines and student mentoring programs are …

Greg

Grad cert of animal science; As an experienced student and teacher I found that JCU had the lowest standard of teaching I've experienced. The course seemed to be thrown together with as little effort possible. A complete waste of time and …

Jack Frazer

For a Spouse. Disgusting teaching, most shouldn't have their job's, should just charge $40,000 to stream videos on youtube and write paper down to a screen. As this is how they are teaching the "people of tomorrow" Never any good feedback. …

Tina Hsieh

Current student. I think it's a great university with friendly helpful staff & teachers. They're always doing renovations and making the campus more modern and aesthetic. Woolies closed replaced by supa IGA which is very convenient for us. …

Tiana Tiana

I don't think people take this seriously as a 'real university '. In Brisbane the students seem to be all international students who are here for other reasons (eg to get a visa). I wonder if they have any domestic students in the Brisbane …

Jai Joseph

Excellent teaching staff. In fact, the corporate level could do with some teaching staff of their own; like teaching the corporates to be more engaged with the students in terms of facilities. I'm specifically addressing the problem of car …

Stephen Malpas

As a former student of JCU I found that the education lectures didn't know how to actually teach with many having no experience with teaching in schools. With my lecturers at CQU all had industry experience. Now my daughter is at JCU and …

Janine Williams

It is with regret that I am to learn that even though you are able to transfer from another University to complete a degree your previous credits and distinctions are not credited to you at your graduation because you did not attend JCU …

Deanna Caracciolo

I was a semester study abroad student. Overall I was disappointed with my experience. Australia was beautiful and I had a great time traveling but university was pathetic at best. I came as an A (HD) student with an intent to learn and …

The JCU medical interview selection process lacks transparency. The Dean of Medicine, Professor Richard Murray, is the head of the selection process and is responsible for its lack of transparency, consistency, and fairness. This lack of …

Disgusted and disheartened to hear about the domestic abuse case. NO VIOLENT OFFENDERS should be permitted to practice medicine. Allowing someone who has pleaded guilty to domestic violence to continue in the medicine program undermines …

Aimee Russo

As a past graduate of JCU, I am disgusted to hear that a domestic violence offender is being allowed to continue studying medicine, a career that is meant to CARE and do NO harm to people. And to further hear that a professor of JCU is …

Liam Devlin

A domestic violence perpetrator who assaulted his then partner at a med ball has been allowed to remain in the medicine program. Associate Professor Smith wrote this student a character reference for his court proceedings. It is really …

Mohammed Alattas

The university is generally average, and the faculty is helpful. However, the city itself is quite boring, and I wouldn't recommend it. Townsville is a small city with few international students and a limited population. The university …

C Torelli

Spouse did a course there only to realise it was unaccredited after she finished her degree even though it was advertised as being accredited. JCU are a bunch of incompetents and students should get their money back for being lied to.

Tanya N

I wish I had have read these reviews prior to enrolling. I am an online post grad mature aged student that is working full time. I can't afford to be waiting days and still have no response to issues preventing me from completing my …

Hagrad Vandalbear

How the hell can anyone support a University that endorses abuse and domestic violence!!!! They are allowing a student to graduate after being found guilty of physically assaulting his former partner. They even gave him a character …

Bulldog Campbell

I tried the gym a couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised they have given it an overhaul and got new exercise equipment and weight machines. The staff behind the counter were friendly and welcoming too.

Adrian L

Great Teaching Staff who I feel are more approachable than large Uni's, ageing facilities that are not being upgraded fast enough. But a nice large university in Northern Queensland.

Jillana Rossow

Most intense and hardest extraction by one of the students at the JCU Dentist today, came out clean. Very accommodating and great work done. I'm happy with the result.

Deanne Bell

Attended medical services and after had very nice afternoon tea at Ottos
Very clean and pleasant staff, makes to be worn except when eating of course....

kate izac

The only and the best uni, that doesn't need umat for dentistry. I like the this idea cause it doesn't worth sit umat after hard studies.

Luke I

From what I hear this uni prosecutes those who have different opinions, fires them and tries to destroy them financially. Pathetic uni.

Kerri Ireland

A little outdated but a well equipped campus. Lots of upgrades going on around the place, should be awesome in a couple of years time!

Nicolás

Great place. full of trees and open spaces.

Academics who present scientific data that undermines the "climate change" political narrative are not welcome here.
