A classmate, a "contact", a fake admission list with her name on it: ₹15 lakh for an ESIC Faridabad seat that was never hers

Compiled by TrustMBBS from published news reports ·

This case did not begin with an ad. It began with a classmate.

According to Careers360, after NEET results were declared in June 2024, a Faridabad resident named Jitender was approached through his daughter's classmate, who said he knew people who could arrange an MBBS seat at ESIC Medical College, Faridabad. The classmate introduced the family to a woman whose husband was said to be connected to people with access to the college; another woman then set the price at ₹15 lakh. The family paid ₹13.10 lakh in cash and transferred ₹90,000 to a bank account.

What they received in return looked like an admission: a counterfeit admission list with the daughter's name on it, an identity card with a fabricated roll number, and a letter saying classes would begin in January 2025. It fell apart when actual admissions took place and her name was on no official roster. Three people were arrested by Sector 58 police in September 2025, including a 30-year-old reported as Krishan Kumar, who police said prepared the fake documents; two women were also arrested (their names were changed in the report). None has been convicted at the time of writing.

Two things make this case instructive. The introduction came through a trusted, ordinary channel — a classmate — which lowered the family's guard far more than a cold call would have. And the "proof" was tailored: a list with the right name, an ID card, a start date. Fabricated documents are cheap; the family had no way to tell them from real ones because they had no independent channel to the college.

The independent channel is the whole defence. Government medical seats in India — ESIC's included — are allotted only through official counselling (MCC or the state authority), with allotment letters downloadable from the counselling portal under the candidate's own login. If a seat cannot be seen in your own counselling account, it does not exist, whatever paper you are shown. And the money trail tells its own story: ₹13.10 lakh in cash to an individual is not how any college in India collects fees.
