Punjab opens 2026-27 MBBS and BDS admissions; public college fee rises to Rs50,000 a year

The University of Health Sciences, Lahore, which runs centralised medical and dental admissions for Punjab, opened online applications for private-college MBBS seats on Friday 23 October 2026 and for reserved seats in public colleges on 26 October, TechJuice reported. Under the Punjab admission policy for 2026-27, annual tuition at public medical and dental colleges rises from Rs15,000 to Rs50,000 for newly admitted students only; earlier batches keep the old rate, Pakistan Observer reported on 17 October, citing notification SO(ME-II)2-1/2026.

Merit is calculated as MDCAT 50 per cent, FSc 40 per cent and matriculation 10 per cent, with minimums of 60 per cent in FSc and an MDCAT score of 55 per cent for MBBS or 50 per cent for BDS. Applicants to public colleges must rank every college. The private MBBS portal at privatembbs.uhs.edu.pk lists a deadline of 6 November at 5 pm, with the first selection list due on 18 November for about 4,500 seats in 34 colleges, TechJuice said; private BDS applications run from 18 December to 1 January 2027. Reserved seats cover Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan and former FATA (214 MBBS, 38 BDS). Selected candidates must deposit fees within three working days, Pakistan Observer reported.
