Kyrgyz Health Ministry moves BIMI, Ala-Too and IMU dentistry students to accredited institutions

The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic issued Order No. 1074 dated 14 September 2026, amending its Order No. 912 of 3 August 2026 on the transfer of students from medical institutions that did not pass state accreditation. The order, signed by First Deputy Minister T.A. Mamadaliev, cites Presidential Decree No. 250 of 28 August 2025 on a state monopoly in training healthcare specialists and the minutes of the transfer commission meeting of 11 September 2026. An unofficial English translation is posted on the Indian Embassy in Bishkek website.

Under the amendment, five-year students of Bishkek International Medical Institute move to the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I.K. Akhunbaev, five-year students of Ala-Too International University move to the International Higher School of Medicine, and dentistry students of International Medical University move to Asian International University named after S. Tentishev. Receiving institutions must admit students to the semester matching the one they had reached. Medical Dialogues reported on 24 September that over 2,000 Indian students are affected and that the embassy has asked the NMC for a one-time exemption from the FMGL 2021 bar on transfers, with no reply at that time.

Students should check the order on the embassy site and any NMC notice on transfers.
