Before you apply: five checks for this college
- Confirm the World Directory entry F0000522 yourself at wdoms.org; the entry describes the school as it reported itself, not its recognition anywhere.
- Ask the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) whether the school is currently recognised and whether its graduates are being registered this year.
- Ask your own home regulator, in writing, whether a degree from Bayero University Faculty of Medicine is accepted for licensing at home (for Indian students: the NMC requires the whole course, internship included, at the same institution).
- Get the fee schedule and admission letter from the school's own office (deanmed@buk.edu.ng), not from an agent, and pay only to the school's account.
- Search the agent, consultancy or website you are dealing with on the fraud alerts page before paying anything.

- Confirm the medium of instruction, hostel/food costs, and total multi-year fee in writing from the university itself, not only from an agent's brochure.
