USD 105,000 over five years, a non-refundable Rs 100,000 admission fee and a NUMS-only entry route: what the published rules say about CMH Lahore before you pay an agent

Compiled by TrustMBBS from published news reports ·

Pakistan's private medical colleges answer to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), and what they may charge has been in two high courts since 2025. CMH Lahore Medical College and Institute of Dentistry is army-run and, its prospectus says, affiliated since 2015 to the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS), run by the Army Medical Corps. The prospectus also claims a WHO World Directory listing; Wikipedia records PMDC recognition. Nothing here is an allegation against the college: no court case or regulator notice naming it was found for 2022 to 2026. The risk for a foreign family is price and paperwork.

Price first. The college's fee sheet for the 2025-30 programme charges foreign, dual-national and overseas-Pakistani MBBS students USD 20,000 in year one rising to USD 22,000 in year five, USD 105,000, plus a Rs 100,000 admission fee the sheet says is non-refundable for foreign students. The fee-cap reports cited here concern Pakistani seats, not the USD fee.

The Pakistani-seat figure is contested. The same sheet lists Rs 2,525,000 a year for Pakistani nationals, rising 'as per PM&DC directive'. Yet in March 2025 a Prime Minister's committee capped private MBBS and BDS tuition at Rs 1.8 million, Dental Tribune reported, and PMDC then ordered colleges that charged more to refund the excess, ARY News reported. By November 2025, according to Nukta, PMDC had sent show-cause notices to 14 colleges, none had refunded, and the private colleges' association had an Islamabad High Court order barring coercive action while it disputes PMDC's fee-fixing power. Nukta did not name CMH Lahore. On 19 September 2026 the Lahore High Court suspended PMDC's 5 per cent increase notification on Central Park Medical College's petition, Bloom Pakistan reported. Which figure governs is unsettled.

Paperwork second. The college's website says seats are filled through NUMS centralised admission. Under PMDC's 2023 regulations, as colleges' admission guidelines summarise them, foreign applicants skip MDCAT but need SAT-II at 550 per subject or a foreign MCAT or UCAT at 50 per cent, 60 per cent in a 12th-grade qualification earned abroad, and residence abroad when applying. For Indian nationals and OCIs the degree is unusable at home: the NMC's April 2022 notice bars them from FMGE and employment unless they joined before December 2018 (as reported) or hold MHA security clearance. Global Voices, citing The Hindu, counted 256 Kashmiri graduates still awaiting that clearance.

Before paying anyone, read the fee sheet on the college's own domain, ask in writing which annual figure applies to your seat and what is refundable, and pay the college's account, not an agent's. Check your home regulator's position on a Pakistani degree first: a recognised college is not the same as a usable degree.
