UNIMED Ondo inducts 77 medical and dental graduates at fifth MBBS/BDS ceremony
The University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, has held its fifth MBBS/BDS induction ceremony, admitting 77 new practitioners, 66 medical doctors and 11 dentists, into the professions regulated by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, BusinessDay reported on 22 October 2026. Abdul Enejo, representing the MDCN Registrar, conducted the oath taking and formal admission and told the inductees that being a doctor is about more than holding a certificate.
Guest lecturer Taiwo Fasoranti, Secretary to the Ondo State Government and a consultant family physician, warned the new doctors against falsifying medical records and prescribing unnecessary drugs, and urged them to protect their own physical and mental health and to keep to ethics even when unobserved. Vice-Chancellor Ebunoluwa Adejuyigbe urged lifelong learning, integrity and compassion, saying patients will not care how many distinctions a doctor made if they cannot show compassion. For applicants considering the university, the report shows its medicine and dentistry graduates being formally admitted to the professions by the MDCN; the date of the ceremony itself is not given in the report.
