Bangladesh DGME pencils in 4 December for MBBS and BDS admission test; circular awaits HSC results

Professor Md Nazmul Hossain, director general of the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME), told reporters on 15 September 2026 that the MBBS admission test for 2026-27 had been initially fixed for 4 December, with the BDS test on the same day, The Sun reported. He said the date would hold only if HSC results were published by the third week of October, since some HSC exams had ended late because of floods; otherwise the test would be postponed.

HSC results were published on 31 October, according to the admission tracker Shikkhaweb, which notes that no DGME admission circular had appeared by that date. As of 2 November the directorate's notices page still lists no MBBS or BDS circular for 2026-27; its latest notice, dated 26 October, concerns IHT and MATS diploma admissions. Students usually get about a month for result re-scrutiny applications after HSC results, so a 4 December date is now tight. Question format and mark distribution were still under discussion in September. Last year's test was held on 12 December with a combined SSC and HSC GPA threshold of 8.50 and 13,051 MBBS and BDS seats.

The official circular will be posted on dgme.gov.bd; treat 4 December as tentative until it appears.
