Additional Information: The Faculty of Medicine was established in 1992 as part of Assiut University. In 1996 South Valley University was established and Sohag Faculty of Medicine was annexed as part of the new university. In 2006, Souhag University was established by presidential decree, and the Faculty of Medicine formerly attached to South Valley University was transferred to the new university.
